By car or taxi:
On-street short stay parking is available - this is free on weekends and after 6pm on weekdays. Nearest car parks are Hudson Street NCP NE8 2AJ (opposite the bar), Town Hall NE8 1DP, or Church St NE8 2AT.
Taxis can head straight over the High Level Bridge and drop off in one of the spots almost directly outside.
Public Transport:
We’re just a 10 minute walk from Newcastle’s central station. Head over the High Level Bridge and we’re the first Arch you come across.
The nearest Metro station is Gateshead (5 minute walk) and Wellington St bus stop is just a few steps from our front door.
Disabled Access:
We strive to be accessible for everyone but unfortunately we are limited by some of our building features. There are two small steps at the entrance and our inside tables are high with stools. Please feel free to contact us for more information before your visit and we will do everything we can to help.
FAQs
Dogs & Children
Well behaved dogs are always welcome with free dog biscuits & water bowls always readily available! Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Children are welcome until 9pm, and must be under the supervision of a parent or guardian at all times as per the rules of our licence.
Bookings
We do not take bookings due to our small size & quick turnover of our tables. Even when we are full we usually have standing space at the back of the venue, we can nearly always fit you in for a drink while you wait for a table.
Events
If you have a large group wanting to visit or are interested in using our space for an event, please get in touch using either the form above or emailing info@axisbeer.com with some information & prospective dates and we can let you know what we can offer. Please note we try to be open for the general public as much as possible so can usually only offer venue hire Sunday-Wednesday.
